Mark joined the faculty at MIT in 2015.  He received his B.A. in Biology from Reed College in Portland, Oregon and his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.  Prior to joining MIT, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Campus in Ashburn VA.

Olga Vieira

Olga joined the lab in August 2015.  She was previously an administrator in the MIT Biology department.

Mathieu Lafourcade, Ph.D.

postdoctoral associate

Mathieu joined us in October 2015.  He received his undergraduate degree in biotechnology engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Technologie des Biomolécules de Bordeaux and his Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Neuropharmacology from the University of Bordeaux 2.  Mathieu was previously a postdoctoral researcher at INSERM and the Catholic University of Chile.

Lukas Fischer, Ph.D.

Lukas started in the lab in November 2015.  He received his B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Central Lancashire, Preston and his B.Sc. in Neuroscience from the University of Bristol in the UK.  Lukas earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

Friederike is a Senior in the School of Engineering.
She joined the lab in January 2016.

Lou Beaulieu-Laroche, B.Sc.

Graduate Student

Lou joined the lab in March of 2016. He received his B.Sc. in Neuroscience from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He is studying dendritic integration using dendritic and somatic patch-clamp electrophysiology combined with two-photon imaging and uncaging.

Marie joined the lab in April of 2016.  She received her B.S. in Neuroscience from Georgetown University in Washington DC. Prior to graduate school, Marie was a research technician at MIT.

Jakob Voigts

Jakob started in the lab in September of 2016.  He received his B.S. in Mathematics from Heidelberg University in Germany and his PhD in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from MIT. Jakob is co-founder of OpenEphys.

Quique Toloza

Quique joined the lab in June 2016 for an MSRP summer project and returned as a research technician in June 2017. He double-majored in Physics and Spanish Literature at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Raul came to the lab in June 2017 for a summer project and returned as a visiting scholar in February 2018. He is finishing his biology degree the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez.
